Hello, and thank you for being here. I’m Alice L. Williams, B.A., SLPA, and I’m honored to share my work and mission with you. My healthcare career began in 2001, giving me 25 years of experience in the medical field.
My entry into speech pathology was untraditional. After becoming a mom, wife, and later a single mother, I relocated to Texas, where I met a Baylor University Communication Disorders graduate who encouraged me to pursue the field. That encounter set me on a new path—eventually leading me to Arizona State University and Estrella Mountain Community College, where an advisor introduced me to the SLPA profession.
Since 2018, I’ve been working as a speech-language pathology assistant, supporting clients across in-home, clinic, and telehealth settings. Along the way, I noticed a gap: support personnel professionals often lacked the resources and recognition they deserved. That realization inspired me to create The SLPA Network (TSN), the first and only interdisciplinary online community for support personnel.
